As displayed in the "credits" screen of my first commercial game, Peter Zyckman's Quest:
I, David A Reeves, am a lone, sole developer of Peter Zyckman's Quest. I learned how to model 3D things and play electric guitar, which I applied to make graphics and soundtracks for this game. I was born in 1978 in Cleveland, Ohio, USA, to a family which moved to Galveston, Texas in the 1980s, survived a hurricane that wrecked the island, then moved to Herndon, Virginia, for the rest of the 1980s, then to North Olmsted, Ohio for the 1990s where I went to junior high school and high school at North Olmsted public schools, class of 1996, and lived onward in North Olmsted from the 1990s to roughly the middle of the 2010s, and currently, at the time of this text, am a resident of Cleveland, Ohio once again. For many years, including while living in Virginia as well as Ohio, I have been into computers - including programming and making my own games (starting with Commodore 64 and 128 computers, BASIC, LOGO, etc.), as well as computer-based music. I have worked on open-source software in the past, some of it published, including my own VST plug-ins, and recorded much of this game's music with my own Gibson Explorer electric guitar. Yes it is a Gibson. Yes it is American-made. No it is not an Epiphone, and no it is especially NOT some "Gibson Epiphone" guitar. (When someone claims to own a "Gibson Epiphone" instrument, I might say "Well that's nice. By the way, what do you drive to work in every day? I suppose you're the proud owner of a 'Ford Toyota'?") I like a good cheese pizza with extra cheese and triple bacon on it, or something comparable, and I like it if I am skinny and can look good in Ghast-brand high-tech patch pants, although I'm a bit old for that stuff now. As of the time of this text the only car I've ever had is a red-colored Canadian-manufactured Toyota Corolla, which proved to be a really nice car for many years. I'm a die-hard fan of metal and heavy metal music, as well as the newer forms of such. Regarding the older ones, which I still listen to, I'm talking about Metallica, and then onto White Zombie, later Rob Zombie, Godsmack, Static-X, and other bands which have influenced me and my own work, including non-USA bands like Gazette and Oomph! - the latter of which was an inspiration for Rammstein. Speaking of video games, I played many computer games over the years, from Commodore 64 to DOS-based on PCs and then later Windows and a little on Linux, and my first Nintendo was the original, classic GameBoy. I thank Final Fantasy games for their inspiration when creating Peter Zyckman's Quest. For anyone who wants to learn how to program computers and make video games, I'd suggest having good math skills, especially algebra, and consider another career if you can't stand the stuff, or have someone else do all the programming while you make content such as 3D models, sound, music, sound FX, etc. 'Nuff said.
